This medium-sized Shipibo textile traveled all the way from Peru.

We are so excited to share this textile with everyone!
It has a very high-quality dye technique that uses tree barks. The tannins from the tree bark are extracted by steaming. Deep within the tree there is iron which brings out the brown/red tones. Exquisite one-of-a-kind designs on the textiles are freehanded with inspiration from Ayahuasca visions during sacred ceremonies. Lastly, the artisan uses the force of the river to wash the natural dyes from the fabric then bathes the fabric in the sun to dry.
