Silk scarf, this hand dyed/painted silk scarf is called Bring back the summer with this lovely painting of gorgeous orangish red poppies on a dark blue background on habotai silk. Wear it as a scarf, put it in your hair or use it as a table centerpiece. Background color can be changed.

The particular silk painting technique which I used to hand paint this silk scarf is called the Serti technique. It is the silk painting technique where designs are formed with gutta which is applied to silk. Once the gutta has dried, it acts as a barrier for the dye or paint—keeping the color within the outlined areas of the design.

Each scarf is unique and it is a true piece of wearable art, no one else is going to have the same scarf like you! Each scarf is drawn and painted by me one at a time and so slight variations will occur in color and design and no two items are identical. That's the beauty of the handmade process. If the scarf has slight imperfections, please remember to enjoy an artists hand.

The dyes are steam fixed to silk fibers for permanence making the scarf hand washable in cold/ warm water with mild shampoo or silk-wool detergent. Iron damp on reverse side using the silk setting. Do not dry clean.

This scarf is a perfect accessory for casual or business outfits, as well as a perfect gift for someone special. Wear it as a scarf or roll it down and wear it as a headband.
