Ru ware, RuYao, or "Ru official ware" is a famous and rare type of Chinese pottery from the Song dynasty (960-1279), produced for the imperial court around 1100. Ru ware represents the top of the Five Great Kilns (Ru ware, Guan ware, Ge ware, Jun ware, and Ding ware).

This tea cup is well designed in the shape of pentagon. It goes well with all kinds of teas, good for sample tasting as well. A new cup is puer milky white. After using for the first time, it shows a subtle crazed or crackle, which is called KaiPian (开片, shown on the first photo and last 4 photos). KaiPian is a new technique of Song porcelain, making the glazing cracked all over as if it had been destroyed by temperature and water, or an art created by temperature and water. Each KaiPian in the cups are different, making it more unique. You will never see the same KaiPian Ru ware tea cup in the world.
