This is a charming and even delicate vintage Navajo ring. It is marked “R. J. A.,” which was the mark of Raymond Apachito (1940-2001), who began working in the 1970s.
This size 6 ring has a classic Southwestern look, with typical materials (sterling silver and mother of pearl), decorations (rain drop, stylized feather, scalloped bezel), and split shoulders. Weighing .09oz/2.4g, the ring has a hoop that is 2mm/ 1/8 of an inch and a bezel that is 1/2” (13mm) x 1/2” (13mm). The sterling has been tested with a heavy buying magnet to ensure that it is solid and not plated (it is solid). In addition to the maker's mark, it is stamped “STERLING.”
It is in excellent vintage condition, with just light surface scratches. It has been newly cleaned/polished and will arrive in a colorful presentation box to which a gift message may be added.
