This listing features an exquisite Vintage Crown Trifari DEAREST Rhinestone Heart Pin.

The pin is beautifully constructed and carefully set in gold tone brushed Trifarium. The brushed gold tone heart is surrounded with laurel leaves intertwined with Diamond, Emerald, Amethyst, Ruby, Sapphire and Topaz faux gemstones. The inner ring of the pin is set with sparkling pave rhinestones framing the gold heart. The clasp is a roll over clasp that is in perfect working condition. The pin was marketed under the name DEAREST and the letters were spelled out with the faux gemstones.

The maker's mark, Crown Trifari (a Crown with the word Trifari under the crown), along with the copyright symbol, is stamped on the back of the pin.

The pin was fashioned after a Victorian acrostic pin. Victorians loved coded messages and hidden meanings in their jewelry. buying When fashionable ladies went to tea and wore a "Dearest" pin it was to let everyone know that she had a secret beau, so the legend goes.

I have included, in the last three photos, a beautiful pair of Trifari Gold with Clear rhinestone earrings, and a Trifari Gold with Blue rhinestone pair of earrings, and a gorgeous EAGLE pin that are currently available in the Boucher/Crown Trifari Section of my Shop.

Please take the time to view all of the photos as they are an important part of my description.

A little about Trifari:

The company was founded in 1910 by Gustavo Trifari. Since the 1920s, Trifari has been one of the most respected and admired producers of costume jewelry in the US. Prior to 1955 copyright law did not extend to jewelry designs, and Trifari and other manufacturers had to resort to obtaining patents for their designs. In 1955 revisions to the copyright law allowed manufacturers to copyright their designs and include the C in a circle designating the copyrighted design. In 1950 Trifari used a Crown symbol along with their name. In the 1970s and 1980s Trifari changed their signature by removing the crown symbol and switching to a slanted text. The copyright symbol was retained to protect the designs as shown in photo three. All Trifari pieces are signed. Trifari was bought out by Liz Claiborne in 2000 (along with Monet and Napier) and all production was moved overseas and new, lesser quality jewelry was produced with Trifari cards, but they are not signed.

All vintage items have been previously loved and worn.
