Fabulous, art deco silver plate, men's dresser box from the 1930s. Box is approximately 7 and 1/2 in wide and 3 and 3/8 in deep, with three compartments lined with mahogany. Overall condition of the box is good, with expected Silver Plate wear on three sides of the box. Box has extremely unusual onion dome style hand applied feet.
These dresser items were a standard edition to any fine decorative home, typically used for jewelry buying on a men's dresser. It has a hinged lid, with an English monarch Style lion on the lid, and is clearly Hallmark with the English Makers Mark of a right facing lion head, and a triple Crow Mark which signifies silver plate along with the Maker's Mark in the center, from Friedman Silver company, Brooklyn New York, 1908 till they were bought by Gorham in 1960.
