Lovely Midcentury Danish tea (in Danish THE) container from the Knabstrup CAROUSEL series of the 1970s.

The CAROUSEL series has such a great simple design with wonderful bold letters.
It was designed by Signe Boesen Northroup ca 1970s and it came in four colours versions.
This is the brown version. It also came in buying blue, yellow and red.

The bigger jars such as this one for tea is much more rare to find than the small ones for spices. I love this design and collect it myself.

Knabstrup pottery was situated on the Danish island Sealand, close to Holbæk and was one of the biggest Danish potteries with a very long history. From 1950 to 73 the sculpturer Johannes Hansen was the artistic leader of Knabstrup and in 1977 it was taken over by Bjørn Wiinblad and who closed the place in 1988. Knabstrup has recently started a production again where they reintroduce some of their old designs, also with new interpretations.
