Stunning Art Deco black faceted onyx and marcasite silver ring.
Dating from the 1920's the Jazz era.
The black onyx is set in the centre of this lovely Art Deco ring.
It is firmly roll over silver set, and the black onyx has a lovely border of sparkling rose cut marcasites, which has a fan shaped pattern top and bottom of the ring, and diamond and half diamond shaped sides, all set with sparkly marcasites.
A quality touch.
The ring is in a good antique condition, but the onyx does have a chip on the onyx and this is featured on the second to last picture. The chip is a slightly more opaque black colour, but does not notice too much, as it is at the end of the faceted onyx, so slightly melts into the onyx cut facets of the stone. The marcasites have a few tiny nicks, only noticeable with a magnifying loupe.
The ring is has a slightly out of shape shank, nothing major, and just pointed out for complete accuracy.
The Art Deco ring has an indistinguishable mark on the shank, and has been tested as sterling silver.
Probably made in 1920's Germany. The silver band is good and strong.
This ring would make a lovely statement or stand alone ring and would be a great addition to your jewellery collection.
