Product code: Kirkland buying #17
"Kirkland" was a body of work I buying made in 2018, it was a view outside my apartment in Kirkland, Washington. Now I live in Seattle and miss my beautiful view. I focused a lot on the big tree on the horizon, I enjoyed seeing the tree in different weather. I love rainy scenes because the values are mid-tone and within mid-tones you can have the richest, most luminous color. I am fascinated by woods as a subject matter, as Robert Frost said, they're 'lovely, dark and deep.' Woods represent the mystery in life and how some things are unknowable.
This is an oil painting on reeves oil paper, made with high quality Williamsburg paints.
