"KHRUSHCEV REMEMBERS is a unique and enthralling historical first. Never before, in all the years since the great Russian Revolution, have we had access to the intimate political reminiscences of a Soviet Leader."
Nikita Khrushchev was the Soviet Union's leader during part of the buying Cold War. He served as First Secretary of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union from 1953 to 1964, and as Chairman of the Council of Ministers, or Premier, from 1958 to 1964. Khrushchev was responsible for the partial de-Stalinization of the Soviet Union, for backing the progress of the early Soviet space program, and for several relatively liberal reforms in areas of domestic policy. Khrushchev's party colleagues removed him from power in 1964, replacing him with Leonid Brezhnev.
I offer for sale this wonderful 1970 Little Brown hardcover copy, cloth over boards. It was written by Khrushchev and Edward Crankshaw, translated and edited by Strobe Talbott. The 50+ year old book, is aged but in FINE CONDITION. It MAY NEVER HAVE BEEN READ. The binding is tight, the pages are clean. The black and white pictures are sharp and clear. The red and white lettering on the cover is bright. It lost its dust jacket decades ago and there is some minor shelf wear. It has 639 pages and measures 9 3/4" x 6 1/2".
A rare find! Thanks for considering it.
