An interesting relic of the 19th century; a salesman's prospectus for an 1893 edition of James G. Blaine's Life an Public Services. The bindings gives an example of the cloth edition, and within the cover is a leather spine label of the "Deluxe" edition. A flyleaf proclaims, "Magnificent Premium with Every Book". The first approx. 70 leaves give examples of what will be in the book. At the rear is a broadside, subscriber's list (of which this seller did not achieve any entries). This is an affordable example of this style of prospectus, a similar format of salesman's prospectus for Mark Twain's Huckleberry Finn is fetching nearly $10k.
