Vintage Art Deco marbled orange celluloid hair comb for pocket or buying handbag, rhinestone and steel dot decoration, beautifully crafted

Gorgeous orange celluloid hair comb with cover, from the 1920s / 1930s Art Deco buying period. The outer shell is a beautiful polished early plastic with a marbled orange finish. I am listing as celluloid as the paste and steel dot decoration is often seen on celluloid pieces. However the shiny finish and marbled effect could indicate it is the casein based early plastic called galalith.

The comb slides really neatly into its cover and has been well protected over the years - all the teeth are in good condition.

It is hand decorated with clear rhinestones and the characteristic steel dots from this period - all the embellishments are intact. It measures 3.75 inches by 1.25 inches.

The comb is in very good vintage condition, with hardly any wear visible.
