PriMiTiVe Halloween Owl Witch Art Doll Pet Black Cat buying Welcome Kitty "Hooty and Boo" FREE USA Shipping

Here we have a Primitive Halloween Owl Witch with her Pet Black Cat & Welcome Sign that I have fondly named "Hooty & Boo". This piece would display nicely sitting on a haystack or a rocking chair as a door greeter displayed along with your Halloween Decor. She measures 21" tall and 12" wide..

I have created this piece in the primitive fashion to give it that time-worn look. Hooty's body was sewn from tea-dyed muslin. Her facial features are stitched on a cut piece of regular muslin that was prim-stitched onto her face and shaded around the edges with light brown paint using a dry-brush method. Her eyes were cut from stained osnaburg, frayed the edges and anchored with shiney black beads buying in the center. Her separate beak was sewn from muslin and painted with mustard acrylic, sanded and stitched to her face. Her ears are shaded at the seams and protrude through her hat. Her winged arms are sewn from the padded tea-dyed muslin and hand-stitched in black floss around the edges. The dry-brush shading was used at the edges of the wings also.

Her dress skirt was sewn from a rusty cotton printed with thin black swirling circles and the bodice was sewn from a rusty wool houndstooth fabric with 3 black buttons sewn down the front. Her bloomers were sewn from a black cotton block-printed in brown and mustard. Her curled witch hat was sewn from muslin, paint-washed black, sanded and has a strip of the rust fabric that was used for a matching hat band. A rusty bell hangs from the tip of the hat and it's adorned with a twig star. Her pointy witch boots were sewn from muslin, paint-washed black, sanded and laced up with linen jute thread.

Her pet Black Cat "Boo" was sewn from muslin, paint-washed black, and sanded. His mouth, nose and eyebrows were pinch-stitched. His eyes were cut from stained osnaburg with tiny black beads stitched to the center. The welcome sign was cut from stained osnaburg and edge-stitched in black floss with the saying "Black Cats Welcome" in back-stitch letters with black floss.

I have given her a primitive hang tag that I aged with a coffee-vanilla-cinnamon stain and topped with a nostalgic vintage print from an olde Halloween greeting card showing the head of a black hat with a fancy collar that says "Hallowe'en". I have carefully burnt the edges with a flame and sealed the tag with a clear gloss finish. It was pinned to her dress with a rusty safety pin.

This piece has been lovingly made by me from a pattern created by Thread Bare Primitives.

All items come from my smoke free sewing studio and are boxed with tissue and bubblewrap for safe shipping at No extra charge.
