Shawl - Flower buying Fairy's Capelet- Alpaca Blend

FLOWER FAIRY'S CAPELET: An elbow length cape knit using a soft lavender alpaca blend yarn. It is very soft and warm. The fairies are an important part of the folklore on the Isle of Skye, Scotland. There is a fairy flag, fairy bridge, fairy glen and also fairy pools. Can't you just see a flower fairy wearing this flower bell cape as she walks in the woods of the fairy glen?

SHAWL: The original design uses a traditional Shetland border that creates the flower bell bottom edge. It is knitted with sections beginning at the bottom edge. One section is at the shoulder line which allows the cape to sit on the shoulder and not move around.

Hand knit, durable, lightweight, long and warm. Wear it as a traditional over-the-shoulder shawl. Hand washed and blocked to stabilize color and sizing.

FIBER TYPE: Soft alpaca blend bulky yarn

COLOR: Soft lavender. The color is most accurate in pictures 1, 3 and 5. It is not gray, this yarn has a lovely sheen which made getting accurate buying color photos difficult.

SHAPE: Capelet, about elbow length

HOW IT IS MADE: Hand knit from my original design pattern that repeats a Shetland border along the bottom edge creating the flower bell shaped. There are multiple sections including one at the shoulder line which allows the capelet to sit on the shoulder without moving around. Hand washed and blocked to stabilize color and sizing. Comes packaged in a clear protective bag so you can see the color without having to open the package should the color not appear as you expected.

Made in a smoke-free, cat-friendly home. The cat may have watched the shawl being knitted, but there has been no cat contact with the shawl after it was finished, hand washed, blocked and packaged ready to wear.
