Wonderful Authentic Antique Victorian Era Mourning Brooch. Hand carved Black Bakelite Cameo with Ivory/Blush Bust. Bust has lovely intricate carved detailing. This is a rare piece as it is almost impossible to find mourning cameos/brooches with the ivory/white bust. That is what the appraiser told me when I took this piece it to get it appraised.

On the advice of the appraiser I did not attempt to clean this piece. It was left to me as part of a loved ones estate and I know it was in a glass type display case for at least 50 years. I am unable to get this piece cleaned by a professional due to the pandemic. So I'm listing it in hopes it finds a new home with a collector or someone who will cherish it.

This piece would be stunning placed in a shadow box style frame with antique photos, or on display with other antiques from this era. It would also make a wonderful cherished gift and can be altered to ware as a necklace.

Condition: Excellent- could be cleaned. Antique Cameos have a “c-clasp” on back which means the brooch pin loops under a crescent shaped piece of metal to hold it in place, according to the appraiser this piece is pre 1920 and therefore an Antique.
