In Yiddish, "mazel" means good luck, and "shlimazel" means misfortune. In this Yiddish parable, these are two invisible spirits, the one jauntily dressed, well intentioned and a trifle foolish, the other bent over, evil, prone to drink and looking buying for all the world like an ancient Polish Joe Bffstkk.

Condition: This is a former library book and has been well loved! Library marks, card pocket, etc, are present. The lovely aspect of this library book is the Mylar cover having well protected the dust jacket! First blank page has top right page torn, missing approximately 3”x1” size of that corner's page. Pages show some yellowing from age. Minor spots of soiling present on several pages (think “little finger prints.”) Illustrations are vibrant and bright, pages are crisp.
