Mid-20th buying Century Wooden C.C. Roberts Mudpuppy with Original Hooking System, Older Than Vintage, Cira 1950

For sale is a very nice older than vintage, Mid-20th Century 5" wooden Roberts Mudpuppy musky lure in a mottled grey/green pattern made circa 1950 by the C.C. Roberts Bait Company of Mosinee, Wisconsin. It is in good condition considering its age with some paint loss due to use, but intact decal eyes, rear metal tail, attaching and through joining hardware, and huge treble hook. This model has the original breakaway hooking system made famous by Roberts. Very clean--no dirt, rust, or corrosion. This version of the Mudpuppy is no longer being produced.

The tackle for sale is used. Please review the description and photographs very carefully. I gently clean my sale items; however, I do not alter or modify them in any way.

Anglers and collectors often prefer to own and use older tackle, especially earlier versions of lures still being manufactured, or models and patterns that have been discontinued. Older lures are often more valuable, have proven track-records of success, and are generally better made than many of today's versions. Frankly, older lures, especially those made out of wood, are just better investments.

I rate the condition of an item on a scale of poor to excellent. I factor in age when making this assessment. The older an item the more acceptable minor flaws. I do not seek to profit from shipping charges. I ship in padded envelopes or boxes and try hard to keep shipping costs down, using the least expensive delivery service that allows me to ship items securely--generally USPS first-class mail or Priority Mail. Items weighting over one pound ship FedEx Ground. If I can ship multiple items in one parcel to the same buyer at the same time, I charge one shipping cost, and credit the buyer for any excess prepaid shipping charges. I do not warrant my tackle; it is sold as is. However, if you are dissatisfied with any item you buy from me, please return it intact and in salable condition within 30 days. I do not want you to keep something you do not want. I will refund the cost of the item only. I do not refund shipping charges. You are responsible for paying the return shipping cost.
