Product code: Handwoven Scottish Linen Twill By the Meter- Jacobean buying Crewel- Surface Embroidery- Upholstery

This 100% Linen Twill is handwoven in Scotland by a specialist historic textile weaver using traditional techniques.

The listing is for one meter of 150 cm wide linen twill, suitable for embroidery, upholstery and soft furnishings, it is also available as a fat quarter measuring 75 x 50 cm by the meter, please see my other listings.

The linen is an oatmeal colour with a hint of honey. It is produced from flax grown in Scotland fields away from sources of pollution eliminating the need for the bleaches and dyes that are usually required to produce this 'natural' colour.

The linen has an 'S' twist with a high thread count. The higher the thread count the easier it is to stitch, giving a better end result to your projects. There is a satisfying popping sound when the needle passes through the linen when stitched at tension.

It is an excellent choice for all crewel pieces, especially historical designs and heavier types of surface embroidery. The correct side of the linen to embroider is the ‘ridged' side of the linen.

If you order more than more than a meter it will be sent as a continuous length. buying
