Antique Civil War Era Tin Snuff or tobacco Box, Patent 1802.This soldered tin oval snuff box was quite common during the Civil War. It was oftentimes used to hold many things other than snuff/tobacco. Coins, shooting caps, small souvenirs, or a lock of hair of a loved one back at home.The box says "PATENT May 6th 1802.
3 X 2 X 3/4 inches. Lift top with a compartment for a sponge on the lid.
CONDITION: In very good condition. No dents, tarnished with age.
