Product code: 2020 Hot Wheels RLC Red Line Club MotorTrend Roadkill '71 Rotsun Datsun 240Z buying SET
Limited edition The Custom '71 Datsun 240Z, better known as the Roadkill Rotsun was built as a one-off custom on the Motor Trend show "Roadkill". For a special promotion, the Hot buying wheels casting was based on the final built car on the show and was recreated in 1:64 scale by Hot Wheels designer Mark Jones In 2020, Hot wheels ran a promotion with Motor Trend, the automotive magazine and television channel, which host the show Roadkill. Roadkill follows David Freiburger and Mike Finnegan as they build crazy one-off custom cars. "The Rotsun" was a born from a rusted-out 1971 Datsun 240Z, and was built out to include a turbocharged 5.0 liter V8. The deco on the Datsun 240Z reflects how the car originally looked, and the new casting for the Custom '71 Datsun 240z reflects how the "Rotsun" turned out. The card art for each reflects this as well, with the Datsun card having a list of parts needed for the build and the "Rotsun" having all the parts crossed out. Both are exclusive to the 2020 pr.
