Cottagecore overalls & bonnet for 3-4 year old, with hand appliqued buying embroidered rabbit pocket, made from antique crochet and japanese fabric

these overalls with matching bonnet are sized for a growing 3-4 year old child. depending on the height of the child the overalls will be long or 3/4 leg, or shorter and still fit, as the style is loose, and the straps adjustable.

i have used a medium weight pure cotton from japan for the outer fabric. this is printed with running, jumping and sitting hares or rabbits, on a pale pink background.

the fabric choice suggested a feature pocket with hand appliqued rabbit. i stitched this with pieces of patchwork cottons, freehand, using pearl crochet cotton. a tiny sleigh bell adorns the ruffle around the rabbits neck.
the pocket is large and closes with a vintage metal snap.

the overalls are fully lined with a plaid cotton, to give longer wear and add a pleasing contrast to the outer fabric.

the long ties are crossed and tie simply through fabric loops in back.
the back waist is elasticated.
details of vintage lace along front bib, and self-made bias hems buying at legs.

the bonnet can be worn as is or folded back to form a brim. fully lined with vintage cotton.
the back features an antique hand crocheted piece which adds a pretty, vintage element to the whole outfit. the ties are finished with covered buttons ( hand knitted ) and fabric cotton rosettes.

measurements :
full length from top of bib to leg hem, 24 inches or 61 cm.
outside leg, 19 & 1/2 inches or 50 cm.

bonnet will suit this age group.
