Product code: MARS EXCURSION MODULE buying (MEM)
Mfg by Madelman Toys of Spain and sold in the U.S. by K.B. Toys circa 2006. This Mars Excursion Module is made of styrene plastic & stands 16" inches tall with a variable landing gear stance of up to 16" across. The MEM is sized at approximately 1/12 th scale and will fit 6"inch figures such as Major Matt Mason, Mattel's Man in Space toy line of the 1960's. The MEM features many moveable parts which include variable position landing gear, a gimbaled main thrust chamber, opening top escape hatches and a large EVA door with a ladder to allow egress & ingress of a crew to buying the cockpit interior area. The crew cabin features seats, main instrument console panels and flight controls. No external packaging is included. Control panels used to light up with 2 AA batteries, but is non-op now. White styrene plastic is slightly sun-stained yellow in some areas. (Astronaut crew, implements & Martian Rock samples not included).
