In the 1930s, Val-Saint-Lambert, to face the competition, launched the LUXVAL collection. This one has nothing to do with the cut crystal, considered too expensive and a little old-fashioned. LUXVAL is made of glass, crystal or semi-crystal, molded, less well finished, it often has small defects (bubbles, hair, etc.) typical of the beginning of VSL LUXVAL production. It wasn't until a few years later that the quality improved.
At the time these new Art Deco pieces are much more topical and at more affordable prices, unlike many other glassworks such as Scailmont or Walther Glass. Val-Saint-Lambert destroyed the molds, buying which means that these objects are particularly sought after by collectors and they will be more and more so in the future.
