2 Miniature Royal Doulton Lambeth Silicon buying Ware Pottery Vases

2 Elegant Miniature vases from Royal Doulton dating to the 1880s. The blue and white hues of the raised flower and garland decoration contrasts beautifully with the cool brown of the underlying, natural clay. The flowers that ring the body of the piece that form a lacy band around the base and cascade down the base have a sculpted realism, with a repetition of form that gives them a geometric precision. buying The elegant form of the vases with the low, gracefully curved body and slender neck give the vases a classical feel that makes them seem larger than their small size. One vase is slightly darker brown than the other. Though the same pattern, you can tell they were made by two separate artists.

They are both impressed Doulton Silicon Lambeth which dates this to the 1880's time frame. The lighter brown vase has a small dark mark underneath the lip also has England 8967 and an artist mark. the darker brown vase also has England 5977 and a different artists mark. The pieces measures about 3.75" tall and 2 " in diameter. The vases are in excellent condition with no cracks or chips, it has so little wear that they appears virtually pristine. I can see a few tiny splits in the clay of the raised decoration that obviously occurred during firing. These are only apparent under magnification.
