This listing is for a one of a kind beautiful handmade ceramic serving plate with a gorgeous horse surrounded by folk-style flowers, design done in sgraffito technique.

This original clay platte is handbuilt and decorated using white underglaze and food safe transparent glaze.

At first I built the plate using fine buying terracotta clay. Once the softness of the clay had dried to reach ‘leather-hard' stage, I applied white underglaze and drew as well as carved out the design complete with beautiful white flowers.

Next, the decorated plate went into the kiln to be bisque-fired at 1000 degrees Celsius. Then I added transparent glaze, and it went into the kiln again for the second firing.

This plate is entirely food safe. It can be put in a dishwasher, but I would recommend washing it by hand.
