Product code: Alocasia ‘Golden Bone’ - 6" buying Pot

Golden Bone is a stunning Alocasia with its golden yellow veining set against dark green leaves. As the plants get larger, this coloration difference becomes more prominent and the results are spectacular! Light intensity and plant age will determine just how "golden" the veining is

Temperature
Ideal range is 65-75ºF + (18-24ºC buying +) with 70ºF being optimal. Grown outside Alocasia must be brought inside when temperatures drop below 55ºF.

Light
Bright light, but no direct sunlight is best. Shading during the hottest part of the day in the summer is advisable. When growing indoors, supplemental light and humidity would be appreciated and encourage new, quicker growth. do not place too close to a window as the glass will act as a magnifier.

Watering
Excellent drainage is essential. Ideally plants should be kept damp at all times but never saturated or soggy. It is okay to let this plant dry out between waterings but in its native habitat this plant seldom dries out completely.

Soil
Use a chunky, fast draining media.

Fertilizer
Feed with 20-20-20 fertilizer when in active growth. If you live in an area where the plants will stop growing then fertilizer should be reduced/stopped until the plant starts growing actively again

Re-Potting
These can be re-potted every spring but only use a pot one size bigger if it's become very root bound.

Humidity
These plants like slightly higher humidity levels than many other plants. You may need to raise the humidity levels in a room artificially by placing the plant in a humidity tray with pebbles or use a humidifier.
